I paste it into a clear image, and the transparent turns out black, how do I make it clear when I paste it in ?

This is related to your clipboard having difficulty with the png and gif file formats. For some reason, the clipboard can’t handle transparencies when you’re copying from an internet browser. It seems to be a lack of programming on the browser’s part.

If the image is saved as a png or gif file, you will have to right click and go to Save As. This will preserve the transparency. If it’s not transparent, you can just copy it as usual.

I have google chrome and when I want to upload pictures onto facebook I have to use the simple uploader because the normal one says "the required plugin is not installed." what do I have to install to make it work?

I am looking for a free or low cost digital photo editing software that has similar features to photoshop or some of the more advanced programs. I would love to hear any reviews of any that you have tried and get the links to them. Thanks!

Picnik, FotoFlexer or Lunapic are great all round web based and FREE editing tools. Adobe, makers of the expensive Photoshop, now has a free website version in Photoshop Express. If you need/want more features downloading GIMP is a great options. Still free, but you have to download the software. There are also free tools to add text blurbs, to make collages, to put your photo into other images. There are a number of tools that allow you to put the image of a face into other photos for some fun creations. Check out the links below for more ideas.

I am now upgrading to a 55 gal tank. The set up I found has been in a basement for 2 years. The tank is not that bad but the filters are and tubes have what looks like old alge on them. I was told everything was rinsed when it was taken down.The filters are a whisper power filter that takes 2 filter pads and a fluval 303. How can I safely clean them? Also I need to set this up asap.

The simplest, chaepest and one of the best ways is just with salt, water and elbow grease. Use the salt like you would cleansing powder in the kitchen sink, as an abrasive. You might have to get creative with brushes and the like to get in the tubes, but it can be done. Very hot water will help lossen old aglea as well. This method is very safe for the future fish without worrying about super careful rinsing like you would with many products.

I wouldn’t give up on the equipment until I saw that it didn’t work. Don’t try to clean the pads and other filter media, just replace that and you should be fine.

one thing you can do is creating an online portfolio to kindof showcase your work.

getting the job portion might be a bit harder, you may have to start out as a intern first, or even at a different position.

Besides that, you can do stuff such as volunteering and helping them with their IT needs i.e. there webpage.

Hi, I live on Long Island and I am finishing up my bachelors degree in graphic design and I after that I want to go for my masters degree. I want to try to become a college professor by teaching the graphic design programs and how the graphic design world works but what are the steps that you have to do in order to become a college professor? Also, what would be good colleges on Long Island to get your masters degree in graphic design? Any other advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Most schools are going to want that Ph.D. to be a professor. You can be an INSTRUCTOR with a Masters, but PROFESSOR requires a Ph.D. in the subject you wish to profess. (A number of institutions are lax in this last standard, but if they make too many exceptions, this is a definate indicator of the quality of the school.)

This is an academic prospective, not a graphic design one… to complete the degree of education you will need, be prepared to attend school away from your home. It will be a couple years (4-5), but definately worthwhile.

I’ve downloaded Picture Viz from Microsoft website and now want to remove it. When I go to Options-plugins-Add and configure plugins, the remove button is not selectable. I guess I can’t uninstall WMP from Windows Vista. It’s the only solution I’ve got from XP users.

It might be possible to uninstall Windows Media Player itself, thereby taking out any/all plugins associated with it. I’d go into Add/Remove Programs, and see if there’s an option to dump WMP from the system. There are plenty of freeware/shareware players out there (VLC being my weapon of choice–simply because it can handle almost anything the web can throw at you).
If Add/Remove programs doesn’t list WMP, then you miught have to look at employing a thord party uninstaller to do the business for you. My weapon of choice for this would be AShampoo’s Uninstaller package (available from http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/product_2_0403__.htm ) There’s a 40-day trial available on that URL.

I want to stick shapes on my wall but i need them to be ablt to come off with out leaving any marks. whats the bcheapest best ones to get and where do i get them from?

they now have "wallies" which are just wallpaper and would be easy to sponge and take off later. Try Hobby Lobby or Walmart or other wallpaper shops. You could cut out or paint your own pictures and glue them onto the wall with wallpaper paste too.

I was walking with a CW3 and a Major walked by. The CW3 saluted and the SFC did not salute. The Major approached the SFC and said why didn’t you salute. When walking with another officer does the SFC have to salute even though the CW3 already saluted.

The higher rank salutes and gives the greeting.

Both the CW3 and SFC salute, but only one speaks.
