I am thinking about studying graphic design in college. What kinds of jobs are available with this and how good is the paycheck.
I love art and drawing that is why i’m asking. If there are more careers available with art please let me know.

You’re not going to be rich. But you can make a decent living.

But there are many types of jobs out there in many fields. Print designer, web designer, Flash designer, package designer, etc. You can work in an agency, design firm, small to large corporation. Or you can freelance.

But there is alot of competition.

We used them when I was in elementary school. You would have a picture on a card or piece of paper and a collection of plastic pieces in various geometric shapes that would piece together to form the picture. Any help?
Found it on my own. They are called tangrams. Anyone who wants best answer just be the first to say tangram lol

I would guess A.

If you would have a mutation in the repressible operon then there would be no repression. Hence, the transcription would keep on continuing.

I’m using OpenOffice Impress, and I have a custom background that I got from bitmaps. Please explain all the steps in editing the background photo to be more transparent.

I’m looking for a photo editing software to go with my new camera? I spend 400 on the camera and I’m VERY new to picture taking, so I’d like to stick to a beginners program. I don’t want to spend $300 on adobe or anything like that. Looking for free or small priced editing software that’s easy to use, yet has more features than microsoft paint.

I would recommend two of them. Both free.

The first Paint.NET. It is a simple, quick and easy to use program that will allow you to do what you need to about 90-95% of the time. It is easy to learn and quick to use. Much more powerful than MS Paint included with Windows. But there is still the once in a while when you need to do something really fancy that is beyond the power of Paint.NET.

Then you use GIMP. It has most of the features of PhotoShop ("the" computer graphic program). It is even able to use PhotoShop brushes and other addons. However because it is so powerful, it can difficult to use. It is also slower than Paint.NET. So you keep for the 5% of the time when Paint.NET is not powerful enough.

Between them you can do anything you need with photos.

Put some air filters on their engines and just fly right through that ash. I mean it works for cars doesnt it??
shadowroach, its a big sky out there, they wont run into any airplanes, in fact very little visual flying is used, its all mostly by radar today. And as for landing, they do it in snow storms, i dont think ash is must different.

A jet sucks so much air that it’s impossible to put a filter on it. Even if you could, the ash would clog the filter and the engine would quit running from lack of air.

Sorry if its not very clear, but I have a sprite background with different colors and I want to put another sprite onto the background. (When I select the sprite, I do it with the rectangle tool and it takes that sprite sheets background color with it) Is there an option like in paint that can do that? I am using GIMP by the way.

I want to do something new in graphic design like glass effect by Microsoft as well as Mac. Many people copy such design to make logo, ads, webpage and software. I only want a way to do something new by myself. I know if I do practice more then I may be possible. If anyone give guidance to me then it will be easy for me to do such design.

if you ask us, then you’re not really doing something innovative. What i do is look at other graphic designer’s works, and get inspiration for something new. You just have to keep looking at designs that are already out there to know what works and what doesn’t

I am trying to install Adobe flash player 9 and it says it can’t find plugins directory? How do i find this?

You could try searching for the word "adobe" in the folder names. A plug in directory is like a library off additional add-on programs to the original program, so it has more features. Try the Windows directory, I guess. The installation program should let you skip that step and then let you find the plug-ins directory from within the program, under "options", or "plug ins" somewhere on its menu system. If the installation stops when it can’t find the plug-ins, then go to Adobe’s website for help.
