You should update to bukkit 1.0.1 r1. This may be the root of some of your troubles. Most devs only create plugins for the recommended builds. Also you have to have worldguard for worldedit to work. Worldguard is the best of its kind. Anything else is just an imitation not worth its ram usage. To back these up use a logging plugin to undo grief like Logblock, or Hawkeye.

I finally found out how to make a minecraft server on my mac but I need plugins. I need to make it where i can set a home and teleport to it. (Example: /sethome /home). I need the name of that plugin and how to install it. I also need to know how to install TooManyItems and SinglePlayerCommands on my server. Please and thank you !

First of all, mods and plug-ins are two entirely different things. TooManyItems can be installed by looking at any video on YouTube and perhaps is the easiest of all mods to install. I am not quiet sure why you want Single Player Commands because with the appropriate plug-ins, you can do everything Single Player Commands can do.

Now for Installing the plug-in. If you are using the default minecraft server, you need to delete it. It cannot handle plug-ins. Go to this link and it will give you a tutorial on how to set up a Bukkit server. http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server
The Plug-in you want for /sethome is called Essentials. It will also give you several more commands that are like Single Player Commands.

I highly recommend installing the plugin PermissionsX (or PEX) so that only the administrator and other people he allows can use certain commands, otherwise you would have griefers spawning lava and everything.

I’m trying to make a minecraft server and i need some plugins for it.Like disabling TNT and fire.Also i would like the plugin which asks the player to register at the server with the command "/register password",so that players won’t be able to login as others.

It all dempends on the Hardware of you server.

I would go to get bukkit.

then just use the search on the first source.

My Linux (Katya) asks me to choose a program to open any plugins (java, adobe) I have downloaded and want to install to my computer.

You can install those plugins and any software with the Software Manager in Linux Mint.
If you try to install them manually (by opening downloaded files and compiling the software) you could end up with a lot of problems especially if you are not used to using the command line.

I’m not sure you fully understand how hard it is to make your own plugins, but whatever you want to do I guess. You have to physically alter some of the game coding, and re write it PERFECTLY or else it won’t work. I reccomend watching a youtube tutorial.

I currently run a wordpress site selling digital downloads which I create.

I would like to turn this site into one where users can sign up and upload their digital products to sell, and we’d both receive a cut of the sales, similar to many stock photo sites.

I was wondering how to install mods and plugins to my Minecraft server. I am renting space for the server in Las Angeles, and I live in New York, so I have to remotely access the server using the programs PuTTY and WinSCP. I have no idea how to manage these kinds of things, and neither do my friends, so please be patient.

I doubt you’ll get any good answers from these people, but I can tell you what you need.

You need a craftbukkit.jar file. So in other words, you need to make your server into a bukkit server, and that will make a folder where you can put plugins. I don’t believe you can make a 1.9 server a bukkit server, but if you’re using 1.8 you can.

Bukkit.org is where you get the file. It’s on the right side under "recommended builds", so just download whatever you have (1.8 or 1.7). Its a bit hard to explain how to hook your server up to use that jar file, so I’ll link a video that will hopefully help you. It shouldn’t be too hard to install though.

I added them in the plugins folder but some of them don’t work. Whenever I try to spawn anything by typing /spawn something I go back to where I spawn.

Firstly, if they are zip files, you have to extract them to the plugins folder.
Secondly, /spawn doesn’t create items, it takes you to your spawn. To create items, use /give [username] [Item ID] [how many], although this may vary depending on if you have a plugin that changes this, for example, the ‘Essentials’ plugin.
