For instance: I have a picture of the sky and I want to add balloons. I would either have to find a picture of a balloon with a white background, add it as another layer and filter the layer as ‘burn’ to make the white disappear. OR there could already exist a transparent image to add. What are those pictures called and where can I find them?

You may not be able to find one, but you can use your magic wand tool to select the balloons or what ever you want to keep on the layer, then invert your selection and hit delete, so the part you deleted will be transparent, but the balloons or w/e will still be there.

I don’t particularly want to use a third-party skin, I want to keep the current standard myspace music player, but make it transparent. Thanks.

I want it so there is a picture on the slide( taking up the whole slide space) and it will be transparent enough so I can put my title over the picture. Thank You!

you need a program like photoshop (or gimp if you want it free)…then just resize it and add desired transparency, after you had downloaded either or, youtube it!

hi i’m planning to buy cake pans and moulds, and i was wondering what is the name of the transparent band kinda thing you place right beside the cake pan. when we buy a cake its edge is covered by that transparent band……….so what is the name of it? help me out so that i can buy them. thanks!

I found an answer for you! They’re called Clear Cake Collars….Clear Acetate Strips -used around the sides of desserts and cakes to hold filling in.

I have a transparent image in .PNG format (w/ alpha transparency). The problem is, Internet Explorer doesn’t support this type of image. A transparent .GIF looks awful. What are my options here? Is there a simple way to make IE adapt to the transparency? Do browsers support transparent .TIFF’s?

I agree .gif is the way to go. You need to watch your setting when you set the transparency. If you use to high a feather parts of your picture may become transparent.

I use Corel Paint Shop Pro to make a couple pics with transparent backgrounds and they looked fine.

I don’t know about .tiff, but why not just try it.

I want to make the tables transparent but I want to keep everything on them, I just want the background colour gone, so you can see behind the table.

Hi there I want to use an image that I copy/pasted from google. It is a drawing of a rose and it is black while the background is white, How to I set the white part to transparent using Adobe Illustrator? Thank you

If the image is comlpex, it will be really hard to trace and make the background clear. You can try by tracing it, selecting both, and clicking "Object" "clipping mask" "make".

A better alternative, if you have Photoshop would be to:
1. Double click on the "LAYERS" tab, where it says "Background", to make it say "Layer 0". This will make a clear background layer.
2.Grab the wand from the top of the tool bar. Click on any white area, and DELETE!. All of it will disappear. The background will be white and grey checkerd (clear).

If you need to touch it up, you can use the eraser tool (make it small), and go over the edges. Save as a gif or psd to keep the background clear.

I’m trying to do a party invitation and as part of it I want a transparent background. Is there any way you can do it using word processor. I want the background to say 90th in transparency but I don’t know how to do it can someone please help me.

Looking to buy a colored light bulb for a little concert I’m having at my house – and the bulb i was gonna use burned out – looking to buy a new one! What is the difference between ceramic and transparent colored light bulbs?
Does that mean one color shows up better in one than the other?

The ceramic bulbs are translucent: you can’t see the filament through the bulb — the light appears uniformly on the bulb. Transparent means that you can actually see the filament.

I am running a forum and I want to add Rank Image for users. I would like to upload transparent image. I know PSD(Photoshop Document) but that is not accepted format on the forum. What other format can I use?
