I know this is is simply and it is frustrating me because of that! In the past when I drew shapes in photoshop (CS5) the border would be black (if black and white were the colors I set) and the inside would be white. Now they are showing up solid black. I want to be able to make shapes with lines on the outside and a color on the inside that I can change, not one solid colored shape. What setting did I accidentally change? How do I make two colored shapes again?

Start out with a white shape or whichever color you want in the middle. then go to your layer options menu or layer style, and select either inner glow and change the glow color and make it large so it glows everywhere except the inner part, or do the outline or stroke of black so it’s outlined in black but it’s center is white.

In sports and action photography, can you explain to me how different shutter speed renders different types of images?

It all depends on what your subject is and how fast they are moving and how fast your camera can take a photo.

For example, you will have to use a slower shutter speed for photographing, say, a horse event than a car race.
You would also have to adjust your other settings but the best place to start is by practising and experimenting.

I’m trying to make a costume for Sollux Captor. And his glasses are red and blue like 3D glasses but in the red on right incstead of the blue. I found some YuGiOh card holders, their slightly tinted grey, but are completely transparent. I have a pair of glasses frame, I don’t wear prescription anything, and I need to color the cut out plastic pieces dark red and blue. Can someone please help me?

Dying plastic & getting a good finish would be very difficult.
The only think I can think of that may work is translucent nail varnish – but it may also dissolve the plastic.

There are several two-colour ‘Anaglyph’ 3D systems, at least one has red on the right eye, see the link.

Alternately, get some common red/blue ones and try ‘popping’ the lenses inside out (in warm water?) to reverse the curve, then swap the left & right within the frame.

There are masses of 3D Anaglyph glasses on ebay, you can get old style flattish frames or various wrap around types.

You could get some of the big style ones, pop the lenses and trim/file them down to fit the opposite sides of a more modern small lens frame.

What is a good, free photo editing software to download on Windows?

I have people that are going to pay me for pictures in a couple weeks and I really want a new photo editing/ enhancing software to download onto my Windows laptop. I am just wondering what job opportunities will be available for the degrees I am pursuing. I am currently working on my Associates in Web Design and will receive my degree in the fall. After that I plan on working on my Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. Is this a good idea? I initially planned on just taking Web Design, but I want to explore a more creative path with Graphic Design.

It is certainly good that you want to opt in for graphic design too.

But you will just be having an associates in Web design then and there is lot more to explore in Web design with Bachelors in it.
How about doing bachelors in web design itself and becoming a good professional in it?

I am erasing the white background from a picture to make the background transparent. However, when I use the eraser it makes the background white, or whatever color is in the second color box. How can I use the eraser or cut too to make the background transparent? I mean the background that is gray and white checkered, I would save it as a gif? Thanks.

with things such as photoshop, illustrator, indesign and so on. One of the biggest things is keeping up to date with the graphic design world. Im looking for things such as tips, tutorials, news and whatnot. Any good websites you recommend?

Most are design blogs, and there’s so many!
First, if you have a gmail account, use the google reader, which is to keep all your blogs organized and helps you keep up-to-date. These sites/blogs help you keep up to date on what’s going on in the graphic design industry and the coming trends and problems. There’s not much tutorials, you’ll have to figure out for yourself (DIY) and/or go onto youtube or lynda.com or onto forums and just search. I know things can get frustrating, but it’s all about learning. Things don’t go smoothly the first time.
