Every time I open a file in Illustrator that I created in Illustrator, it renders it and takes a long time?
How do I stop it from rendering every time I open it? I need to open it in Fireworks too but I think because it’s rendering, it’s taking ages and I’m not sure it will open at all? Help please!
do you understand how illustrator works? Unlike JPEGs and PNGs, which are called raster graphics, Illustrator files, like SVGs, must be rendered every time you show them. Rather than containing a grid of pixels, they contain a description of what to draw and where. The advantage of this is that you can grow the image without a loss of resolution. The disadvantage is that you have to render it every single time. The only way to avoid it is to save it in a raster format, which will cause you to lose details. And anyway, that’s what Photoshop is for.
